What makes a great egg donor?

Egg donation

The 7 signs you’d make a great egg donor:

1. You have a giving spirit
By providing eggs to intended parents, you give them the opportunity to make their dreams come true.

2. You’re healthy: physically and mentally
Egg donors must have a generally healthy personal and family medical history.

3. You’re between ages 18-35
Because there is evidence to suggest that egg quality declines with age, women who are 36 or older cannot be accepted as donors.

4. You’re a tough cookie and not afraid of a few little needles
Yes, needles – in the form of blood tests and self-injected medication – are requirements of egg donation. But most girls find it to be far less intimidating than they expected and the self-injected stimulation needles are as thick as a strand of hair (absolutely tiny!).

5. Your schedule has some flexibility
We understand that you work, have the university, or have other strict schedules to keep, and will do our best to accommodate you. Egg donors should expect to be flexible and patient though during the donation process.

6. When you start something you finish it
Being part of an egg donation program isn’t something that can be taken lightly. Once you’ve committed to being an egg donor, you have an entire team of people – including the hopeful recipient– counting on your ability to follow through.

7. Making others happy makes you happy!
There’s not much more of a reward in this world than helping make someone’s dream come true. And the dream of a family is a powerful one! If the idea of helping to create a family makes you giddy, we’d love to have you as part of our egg donor programme.
