Working with our partners the London Women's Clinic, we provide the expertise of consultants and embryologists from all over the world. You'll be looked after individually by an expert team who understands your concerns and take a personal interest in your progress.
Our high-tech laboratories on Harley Street and in Cardiff bring the most advanced technologies in donation and cryopreservation. We’ve designed our state-of-the-art facilities to maximise your chances of having a healthy baby, and we are constantly working to improve on our high standards.
Our friendly team will help answer initial questions and book a consultation for you and your surrogate with one of our fertility consultants, who will review your medical history, along with any treatment or investigations you’ve already had elsewhere, and recommend the best course of treatment for you.
You can expect to have some blood tests, and an analysis of a semen sample. Sperm needs to be quarantined for 91- 180 days depending on the screening process before treatment can begin.
Your surrogate will need a scan and some blood tests. Evidence of legal advice concerning the surrogacy is required. A safeguarding letter will be sent to yours and your surrogate’s GPs separately, before starting treatment.
We ask all patients who are considering conceiving with donor eggs to see an independent counsellor, who will help you to understand the broader implications and make informed decisions. Your surrogate will need to have a separate counselling session, and then you will have joint counselling together.
How regulated is the egg donation process in the UK and other countries?
Due to the HFEA regulatory framework, there is a high level of transparency and accountability in the UK, which is very clearly laid out for ease of understanding.
Using a UK licenced clinic means the donor has no rights or responsibilities to any children conceived, and donors are given counselling to fully understand the commitment they’re making. There is a 10-family limit in the UK, which means that no more than ten families can benefit from using the same donor. This is monitored by a national HFEA Central Registry gathering information from any UK registered clinic.
We are also keen to treat our donors well, providing emotional counselling as well as practical support, to make donating eggs a positive process for them.
