The Egg Freezing Process
The first step is to arrange a fertility assessment with one of our consultants, with a blood test to check your ovarian reserve and a pelvic ultrasound scan. This helps us assess your current fertility health and plan your personalised egg freezing cycle.
When you’re ready to start, a personal egg freezing coordinator will plan your treatment cycle with you, arrange screening tests and help you fill in some consent forms.
From the start of your egg freezing cycle, you’ll administer small injections at home to stimulate your ovaries over two weeks. During this time, you'll need approximately 3- 4 scans to monitor your progress and adjust your medication if needed.
Your eggs are collected in a 30-minute procedure under sedation that most women find painless. You should be fine to return to normal life the next day. We always suggest you have someone with you to accompany you home.
Mature eggs will be frozen by our skilled embryologists and stored in liquid nitrogen in our secure facilities. You’ll have a follow-up consultation with your doctor to discuss the outcomes of your cycle.

"I felt so relieved and very confident after the surgery and told myself that I’m not going to beg a man to give me a decent relationship and a child. I can always use my eggs in future and use a sperm donor if I decide to become a single mum by choice."
